kinche

Materials

Kinche is deeply rooted in India’s cultural heritage. The brand works closely with artisans and families in villages across Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal to source vintage sarees, phulkari textiles, and kantha quilts. These fabrics, often 30–40 years old, carry the artistry and traditions of their origins, making each Kinche creation truly unique and meaningful.

The design process prioritizes sustainability at every step. Natural materials such as brass buttons and vegetable-based azo-free dyes ensure every garment is biodegradable. Even leftover fabric scraps are repurposed into quilts and pillows which are then donated to people in need. By preserving the legacy of these fabrics and eliminating waste, Kinche creates garments that honour the past while protecting the future.

Sustainability

Kinche operates without seasonal collections or fast-fashion drops, focusing instead on intentional and meaningful designs whenever inspiration drops. This approach reduces waste and encourages mindful consumption. Payal’s background in horticulture and her global perspective—shaped by years spent in the USA, Australia, and Singapore—have influenced the brand’s environmentally conscious practices.

The materials are skin-friendly and free from synthetic fabrics or petroleum-based components, offering a healthier, more comfortable alternative to mass-produced clothing. Every garment is crafted with care, ensuring it aligns with Kinche’s commitment to sustainability and responsible fashion.
